New Playground Update
Village Consultation Continues, Glebe News, FAQ’s and Playground Report
Following on from the village consultation leaflet, the Parish Council has subsequently met with residents living nearby the potential playground sites of Apreece Way and Gala Close. These meetings took place on site with a socially distanced meeting afterwards at the Pavilion. The Parish Council appreciates that not everybody who would like to voice an opinion was either invited to these meetings (due to Covid-19, the PC wanted to ensure the safety of those attending and so numbers had to be limited) or could attend, so is giving residents 2 further opportunities to get involved and have a say in their preferred location for the new under-12’s playground. The final decision is to be made at an Extraordinary Meeting to be held via Zoom at 7.30pm on Tuesday 22 September 2020. All welcome to attend.
Meeting No.1
We will be holding a remote ‘surgery’ via Zoom on Tuesday 15 September between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. To attend please email for a log in or look out on social media and the website for the meeting details. All welcome between these hours – there will be Councillors available to answer questions.
Meeting No.2
For those who prefer a face-to-face meeting, Councillors will be at the Parish Room on Church Street on Saturday 19 September between 10am and 12 noon to address any concerns and answer questions. As this will be an ‘in-person’ meeting and we have to adhere to Covid guidelines, please email the Clerk at and let us know a time that would be good for you. We will then confirm your ‘appointment!’
Should you be unavailable for either of these meetings, please do contact the Clerk by email or pop a note in the Parish Room post box and we will respond to your query as soon as possible. Your views are important to us.
Furthermore, the Parish Council has published in the September edition of SCAN, a list of FAQ’s which can be found below.
There has also been a lot of discussion about the Pavilion as a potential location for a play area and whilst the Parish Council is looking forward to providing a playground for the over 12’s at the Pavilion as soon as funds allow, has reached the decision that for the under 12’s it would be an unsuitable location. Please see the Playing Field Report below for a fuller explanation.
And finally, we have received important feedback from our Pre-planning application ruling out the Glebe as a potential play area site. This can also be found below.
The Parish Council would like to thank the village for sharing their thoughts on the new playground and hope to see you at the above meetings!
