About Me

I have lived locally all my life. Born and grew up in Washingley and moved to Stilton at 19. Got married and had a brief flirtation with Yaxley before returning to Stilton where I have been ever since.

Been married to Colin for 39 years and we have a 24 year old daughter. For 35 years we have run Colbrook Specialists, moving the business to Stilton in the early nineties.

I have been the Treasurer of the Gardening Club, a member of the Memorial Hall Committee, and a Rainbow Guider known as Otter. Previously, a Councillor for 17 years.

I enjoy reading, especially a good murder, relaxing in my garden and researching my Family Tree. I own a 1937 Ford Convertible with a V8 engine, which is great fun, and am Chair of a National Car Club (NSRA) which keeps me busy too.

Stilton is a wonderful place to live, and I want it to stay a wonderful place to live.

About:

Born “south of the river” and moved to the area in 1975.

Worked on air and water pollution locally and nationally and then in Geneva for the UN (learning much about bureaucracy and diplomacy) before retirement.

Lived in Stilton since 1986 and married to Dee with 3 (mostly) grown-up children between us and 4 grandchildren.

On the Parish Council since 2018 (more bureaucracy and diplomacy challenges) but it feels like forever.

Likes: gardening – even at the Pavilion!  walking – but not to the Pavilion!  do-it-yourself – sometimes at the Pavilion!

About Me

Local lad, born in Offord, unexpectedly, two months early and weighing 2lbs. Eldest of three boys. Lived in Graveley then Fenstanton before moving to Stilton in 1975 when I married Jackie and we set up our first home in Worthington Close.

Stilton was chosen as we could afford to buy a house as opposed to other locations such as Fenstanton, where we both lived. The choice turned out to be a great move as the village and the people made it a special place to live and raise a family.

We had three children Jason in 77, Alison in 79 and Adam in 81, all attending the local schools and joining groups that were available to them at the time.

I am now a retired Civil Servant having done forty seven and a half years service all of which were on UK and US military bases.

I joined the Parish Council to give something back to the village and thrive to make it a place where all that live here can enjoy and feel proud of. I would encourage others to do the same.

About Me

From Yorkshire, 2 children, 2 dogs, one partner (although if Ryan Reynolds asked nicely, I might be able to make room for him at the inn too!)

Travelled far and wide before settling in Folksworth a couple of years ago.  Staying put as we’re renovating an old house and by the time that’s finished (sometimes feels like it’s 1 step forward, 2 steps back), I’m told that we’re off travelling around the world on a boat … that we will be sailing ourselves … even though I get terrible seasickness.  I like adventures though and I like challenges so it’ll be all aboard for me, the dogs, kids, the Captain (and maybe even Ryan!)

For now, I’m really enjoying living here, walking the hounds, eating the world-class puddings at The Bell, biking multiple routes off Bullock Road and learning more than I ever thought possible alongside the lovely group of folk that make up Stilton Parish Council.

Village Caretaker

About me:

I’ve lived in Stilton since I was 10 years old (Reading beforehand) and have been with the Parish Council since 1995.

When I’m not out and about clearing and cleaning the village, I like to play snooker and darts, going to rock festivals and really enjoy the Peterborough Beer Festival.  If I could be served a meal of any food, a big plate of fish and chips would be just fine with me!
